Fleur Borrelli BSc Nut Med, MSc cPNI
Psycho-Neuro-Immunologist & Nutritional Therapist London
I am one of a small number of clinical psychoneuroimmunologists in the UK. It is a discipline that sits at the intersection of neuroscience, immunology, endocrinology, and nutritional medicine, and it changes the way you look at health entirely.
WHAT MAKES MY WORK DIFFERENT
Most people who come to me have already been through the system. They have had the tests, tried the protocols, and been given supplements that helped only partially or not at all. What they have not had is someone who looks at the whole picture, the nervous system, the immune system, the metabolism, the history, and traces the connection between how their body adapted to their life, and the symptoms it is now producing. That is what I do.
The framework I work within is clinical psychoneuroimmunology (cPNI). It is a translational medical discipline that examines the body not as a collection of separate systems, but as one integrated organism, where everything is connected all of the time.
Your nervous system talks to your immune system. Your immune system talks to your metabolism. Your metabolism talks to your brain. Your brain talks to your hormones. And all of them are listening to your history, your environment, your social context, and your internal experience simultaneously. This is not a metaphor, it is anatomy and physiology yet it is not the framework many practitioners are trained to use.
Clinical psychoneuroimmunology is not an add-on to standard nutritional therapy. It is a fundamentally different framework. Rather than managing symptoms in isolation, I work to identify the original mechanism, the point at which physiology changed, and address that directly. This may involve functional nutrition, intermittent living strategies, immune modulation, gut barrier restoration, and hormonal rebalancing. The goal is not symptom suppression. It is genuine physiological resolution, and you will not be asked to buy lots of expensive supplements.
When I work with you, I am looking at all of it at once. Not to make things complicated, but because that is the only level at which your symptoms actually make sense.
WHO I WORK WITH:
I work with people dealing with autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue, digestive dysfunction, hormonal imbalance, metabolic dysregulation, skin conditions, anxiety, and depression. I also work with people who feel broadly well but want a clearer picture of their metabolic and immunological health and those navigating perimenopause or menopause who want to understand what is happening, not just manage it.
CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:
I hold a BSc in Nutritional Medicine and an MSc in Clinical Psychoneuroimmunology from the Pruimboom Institute. I have over 20 years of clinical experience and have co-authored The In-Sync Diet with actress Glynis Barber, an evolutionary approach to fat burn, hormonal balance, and long-term wellbeing. I also help deliver Intermittent Living immersive experiences in the stunning countryside outside Ronda in Spain, through the Pruimboom Institute.
THE PERSONAL PART:
My path into this work was not accidental. A discovery about my father's wartime trauma, and the way it had silently shaped our family's health, set me on a course that has defined my clinical thinking ever since. What happens to us, and how we adapt to it, shows up in the body long after the event has passed. My work is to join those dots and find the original mechanism that changed your biology, to help you understand your body in a way that finally makes sense.
